Gülname TURAN got her ID in 1999 from Istanbul Technical University (ITU). She worked as a designer in Beymen for a year and a half. She got her MSc. in ID from the Science and Technology Institute of ITU in 2002 with her thesis titled ‘‘Research For a Design Historiography: Writing The History Of Design’. She is now a PhD Candidate in Art History, and works as a research assistant at ITU Department of Industrial Design since 1999 acting as teaching assistant in product design, design history and art history courses. She is presently studying on the material culture and design history of 19th and early 20th century Turkey.
